Instructions

    • 1

Remove the old cabinet doors. Use a screwdriver to take out the screws in the hinges. Start with the bottom hinge and move your way up.

    • 2

Affix the hinges to the backside of the new cabinet door. Place the hinges on the end opposite of the knob or hardware. Place the hinges two inches from the top and two inches from the bottom. For a cabinet door that is over 30 inches tall, attach three hinges to the door, spaced out evenly.

    • 3

Mark a line with masking or painters tape on the top face frame rail. You can easily keep the tops of the cabinet doors lined up with this reference line. Be sure the cabinet door is centered with the opening of the door.

    • 4

Line up the top edge of the cabinet door with the tape line you put up while you situate the door over the opening. Use masking or painters tape to note the location of the hinges on the face frame.

    • 5

Open the hinges and then situate the cabinet door so that it is touching the perimeter of the face frame. Align the hinges with the tape marks that note the locations of the hinges.

    • 6

Drill starter holes in the face frame. Use mounting screws to secure the hinges to the frame. Take off the tape markers.

    • 7

Follow the cabinet door manufacturer's instructions to install the door handles, knobs, and any additional hardware.
