If you're tired of the same old look from your cellphone, then swapping out your existing faceplate with a newer one could be the way to go. Removing and replacing the faceplate of your Motorola RAZR cellphone or other wireless device can be a bit tricky, but if you know what you're doing it is something that can be done in just a few minutes and have your old phone looking brand new.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Motorola RAZR
  • Replacement faceplate
  • Thumb tack or small knife
  • T5 screwdriver
  1. Step 1

Use a thumb tack or small knife to remove the small rubber screw covers located at the corners of the screen. There are two at the top and two at the bottom.

  2. Step 2

Remove the four small screws using a T5 screwdriver.

  3. Step 3

Locate the six colored clips that are holding the face in position.

  4. Step 4

Unclip the red clips first, followed by the blue and lastly the green.

  5. Step 5

Carefully remove the old faceplate from the phone and replace it with the new one.

  6. Step 6

Reattach the clips to your phone. First attach the green ones, followed by the blue, and then the red.

  7. Step 7

Screw the four T5 screws back into place and reattach the screw covers in their correct position.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep in mind that the top two rubber screw covers are larger than the bottom two. When putting them back on, the two that were covering the top two screws will need to go back on the top.
  • Removing the faceplate on your Motorola phone will void any warranty that you may have. Be sure not to force the old faceplate off or the new one on, as this can damage the device. The faceplates can be a bit difficult to get off and on so take your time.
