How to Design Sorority Shirts
Year after year, sororities spend money on merchandise for their members. Sororities are organized social groups of women who partake in many activities depending on the mission of the sorority. These activities may include philanthropy, social events and religious events. Sorority shirts represent the group to the entire campus, so it is important to design shirts the members like and fit with the mission of the group.

1
Research the sorority's Greek symbols and background details. Each sorority's letters have a specific history behind them. Sororities also have official flowers, colors and sometimes even a mascot. Make sure you have all these things covered.

2
Brainstorm the design with the group. Everything that concerns the sorority has to be decided by its officials and members, so get feedback concerning the shirt design. Common ideas may include writing out the sorority's name instead of using letters, or adding a catchy caption. Make sure to include the university, the sorority's Greek letters and the current year.

3
Design the front of the shirt. If the sorority has its own logo, include it in your design. Using a design program, such as Photoshop, create the design by adding text and using the shape and fill tools to create graphics. When designing, make sure you use a high resolution, such as 300 dpi, so that your design will look sharp on the finished product.

4
Design the back of the shirt. Many sorority shirts have the names of its members on the back, or a continuation of the shirt's theme. Simple phrases such as "Sorority Girl" can also be used for the design. Some include quotes from sorority alumnae. Others include the name of the sorority's specific chapter at their university. You may also want to add individual names to the sleeve to personalize the shirt.

5
Take your design to a T-shirt manufacturing company, such as Zazzle.com or CustomInk. These companies allow you to submit your design and print them on the shirts. Select shirt colors based on the sorority's official colors. CustomInk.com has on online service where you can design your shirt digitally and place an order. You can also take your design to a shop that specializes in fraternity and sorority merchandise, such as GreekU.com
