How to Unblock a Razer Phone

The RAZR phone is an innovative cell phone with a variety of useful features. However, if you have become dissatisfied with your cellular service or are otherwise interested in changing providers, but still want to keep your RAZR, you must unblock it first. Each wireless provider develops a code that blocks the cell phones on its cellular plans from being used with other providers (this increases customer "loyalty"). Unblocking your RAZR phone is actually a fairly straightforward process if you have the serial number of your phone and can purchase an unlock code from an online vendor.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase an unlock code for your RAZR phone (see Resources section). Approximate cost is $10. Then follow the onscreen instructions after you receive your unlock code, which could take one to six hours to arrive.

    • 2

Remove current SIM card. Turn off your RAZR. Remove the rear cover. Detach the battery. Remove the SIM card provided by your phone network.

    • 3

Insert the alternative SIM card. Put a SIM card from another network into your phone. Then put the battery and rear cover back on. Your RAZR should now display a message to indicate an invalid SIM.

    • 4

Use the numeric keypad to enter the unblock code. Your phone is now unlocked.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful while entering the unlock code. Too many wrong attempts can cause your phone to be permanently blocked.
