1
Start with a freshly washed face and apply moisturizer while skin is still slightly damp to hold in the moisture. Gently rub it in and don't start to apply makeup until it has absorbed into your skin.
-
2
Use a concealer blush and cover any dark spots or undereye circles. Use a cream concealer that blends well and isn't greasy.

3
Apply foundation all over your face with a foundation brush or kabuki brush to even out your skin tone. There are foundations on the market for made especially for women with mature skin. Do not use powder, which will show any creases and lines in the skin.
-
4
Use a dab of eyeshadow primer on your upper and lower eyelids to keep your eyeshadow from creasing or smudging and make it last longer.
-
5
Apply an eyeshadow all over your eyelid that is a shade lighter than your natural skin color to open up your whole eye area. Apply a slightly darker neutral eyeshadow in the upper outer crease of your eyelid and in a thin line along the lower lash line, staying away from the inner corner of your eye. Blend well.

6
Line your eyes close to your lashes for a bolder look for nighttime. If you want a more light and natural look you can skip the liner and just use mascara to thicken, lengthen and define your eyelashes.
-
7
Use an eyebrow pencil in your natural hair color to define your eyebrows without making lines that are too stark or harsh. Small, quick lines that look like hair work look best.
-
8
Use a neutral pink or coral blush lightly on the apples of your cheeks and extend back slightly along your cheekbones. Cream blush will give you a more dewy look.
-
9
Line your lips before you apply lipstick to keep the color from bleeding. You can also just use a dab of lip gloss for a subtle hint of color and shine.
