How to Run Halo Smoothly on a Slow Computer

If you love the game Halo but don't own an Xbox, you are in luck because there is a Microsoft Windows version of the game available for your computer. Because of the constant movement of the main character and the indepth graphics, older or slower computers are going to have trouble running the game. However, there are a few different ways you can adjust your computer and the game to run smoother.

1. Remove unnecessary programs and files from your computer. Cleaning up additional hard drive space can allow the program to run smoother while you are playing it.

2. Make sure no other programs are running while you are playing Halo. Do not leave an instant messenger or your Internet on while playing Halo. These are going to take up memory from your RAM and prevent the Halo PC game from performing at its best.

3. Launch the Halo PC game by either double-clicking the desktop icon or by clicking "Start," then "All Programs," followed by "Halo." Once Halo loads select "Options." Here you can adjust different aspects of the game and allow it to run smoother on your computer.

4. Select "Resolution" and lower the game-play resolution. Also, there are options for objects such as "Texture" and "Shadow." Lower the options from "High" to "Medium."

5. Launch a saved game or start a new one. You should notice that the graphics are not as high, but it is going to run much smoother than before. If the game play still looks a bit choppy you may want to lower the resolution even further.
