How to Convert Quark Files to PDF
Quark Express is a program used for making professional style layouts that someone with limited desktop publishing skills can use. The files created by the program are called PostScript, but users might need to convert the document to a Portable Document Format (PDF). This allows the document to be viewed more easily across different computers because a vast majority of computers in used have programs to read or edit PDFs.

Changing Quark Files to Adobe PDF

The printer method. Start Quark Express. Open the file to be converted. Click on "File" then "Print." In the printer description interface, pick the appropriate Adobe version installed on your computer.

Choose printer then click OK. You will be asked for a file name. Type the file name and the location you want the PDF to be saved in. Save the file. Print the document to the PDF.

The export method. In Quark Express, choose "File," then "Export," and "Layout" as a PDF. The default setting is "Direct to PDF." In this layout, the program will export the file as PDF.

In the event of the setting being "Create PostScript File for Later Distilling," Quark will create a PostScript export file that can be converted later into a PDF using Adobe Distiller in case of additional edits.
