How to Find a Friend on MSN

MSN is a Microsoft web portal that provides news, weather reports, personal finance and investing tools, movie information and many other useful services. MSN also offers a free e-mail hosting via Hotmail and instant messaging capabilities through MSN Windows Messenger. In addition, you can create your MSN profile which will allow you to socialize with people all over the world similar to Facebook and MySpace virtual networks. Once you open an MSN account, your information will be stored in the MSN Members Directory so that other people can find you on the network.

      Go to the MSN website and then log in with your account information, or create a new account by clicking on "Sign Up" on the sign in page. You can use your Hotmail, Messenger or Xbox LIVE user ID and password for the sign in as well.

      Once on the MSN member directory page, click on the box "Search People or Web" in the top right portion of the screen.

      Click on the "Search People" option. Click on the "Advanced" link in the middle of the search page.

      Fill in as much information as you have about your friend, including the first and last names, gender, age range, possible location and work place. Keep in mind, however, that not all users completely fill out this information during the sign up process, or use their nicks instead of the first names. You also need to try different combinations of the first and last name, and a nick, if the search results are negative.

      Press "Enter" on your keyboard and look through the results to find the matching profile.
