Cook an Easy Thanksgiving Meal

Who has time to cook for hours and hours on a holiday? While there are some people who enjoy this, many of us do not. The most work you'll do with these recommendations, will be going to the grocery store. Here are some tips on cooking an easy semi-homemade Thanksgiving meal.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Turkey Breast
  • Salt, pepper, crushed red pepper flakes
  • Hawaiian Rolls
  • Easy Stuffing Recipe
  • Bacon
  • Frozen Green Beans
  • Velveeta Shells Mac & Cheese
  • Fresh or jarred garlic
  • Spinach
  • Potatoes
  • 1/2 c Chicken broth or stock
  • Butter
  • 2 c Shredded cheese
  • 1/2 c Sour cream
  • Grated parmesan cheese
  1. Step 1

Turkey. What's Thanksgiving without turkey? Making a turkey breast is easy compared to a whole turkey. Plan on 2-3 servings per breast. Season with salt and pepper and rub 1 tbsp of butter under and on top of the skin. Bake according to directions on package/weight. Another alternative is turkey breast cutlets. Season with salt and pepper and cook in 1 tbsp of oil in a pan.

  2. Step 2

Sides. What's Thanksgiving without mashed potatoes? Homemade mashed potatoes are quick and easy. Use 1 potato per person. Rinse and cut potatoes in 1 inch pieces. Boil until fork tender and drain. Add salt, pepper, 1/2 cup shredded cheese and 1/2 cup of sour cream and use 1/2 cup of chicken broth/stock (instead of milk). Mash until desired consistency. What's Thanksgiving without mashed potatoes?

Make boxed macaroni and cheese per directions, except cook pasta al dente and then add cheese. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray, add mac and cheese after mixed and spread 1 cup of shredded cheese on top. Bake in 350 degree oven until cheese is melted on top.

  3. Step 3

Vegetable Sides. Making side dishes can be easy. Chop up bacon into small pieces and cook in a skillet. When almost done, add 1 tbsp of olive oil and fresh or frozen (dried as much as possible) spinach. Season with pepper and dash of salt. Cook until done. Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top.

In another pan add 1 tbsp of butter and 2 tbsp of garlic. Sauté 1 minute and add frozen green beans and 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper flakes. Cook until heated through, but still crisp. Add salt and pepper to taste to complete you Thanksgiving vegetable sides.

  4. Step 4

Extras. Heat and serve rolls per package directions. Also, find an easy stuffing recipe to add if you like stuffing. Include a jar of chicken or beef gravy, add a couple of pies and you have an easy Thanksgiving meal.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use store-bought rotisserie chicken instead of turkey breasts.
