It is not easy to get a teaching job at a college. You will need not only your teaching credentials, but also experience is teaching English.

Community College
Apply for a job teaching English at your local community college. It may be slightly easier to find a job at a community college than a regular college.
The standards at a community college may be slightly less restrictive then a regular college. -
Step 3
High School
Apply to work as an English teacher at the high school nearest you. Being a high school English teacher can be very rewarding. High school is the time when students are perfecting their English skills and preparing to get into college. You can make a difference in a child's life by becoming a high school English teacher. -
Step 4
Elementary School
Apply to work at an elementary school if you want to teach children English. Most elementary teachers need to be able to teach all subjects such as Mathematics, English, History, Science and Art. -
Step 5
English as A Second Language
Apply for a job to teach adults English as a second language. You can find both paid jobs and volunteer jobs to teach English as a second language.
If you are able to give back to your community and volunteer to teach English as a second language, you can make America a better place for a new citizen.

Local Library
Volunteer at your local library to teach English to children and to illiterate adults. There are literacy programs at all libraries across the country.
Increasing the number of literate people in your community helps everyone. When people know how to read and write they are more capable of finding employment and taking care of themselves.
