How to grow pineapple tomatoes in pots.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A pot or container which you will use for your plant.
  • Mulch
  • Miracle Grow Garden Soil
  • Miracle Grow Potting Soil
  • Tomato cage
  • Support Rods
  • Weed Block Garden Fabric
  • Support Wire
  1. Step 1

Pick an area that gets at least eight hours of sunlight a day. Anything less than that will result in tinnier tomatoes and less of a harvest.

  2. Step 2

I suggest a fairly large pot because pineapple tomatoes get rather large. Pour mulch into the container, make it about two inches deep in the pot. this allows for proper drainage. But don't forget to a holes to the pot your using if it doesn't already have some.

  3. Step 3

Mix 1 part mulch, mix 1 part Miracle Grow Garden Soil, mix three parts Miracle Grow Potting soil. The 5 parts should be equivalent to the size of the container your using. Make sure the soil is thoroughly mixed.

  4. Step 4

Either buy or grow from a seed to obtain your plant. Plant 50% of the stalk below the soil' s surface. Any limbs below the surface of the soil will turn into roots themselves. Plant during the evening when temperature is cool. Once planted, soak soil thoroughly.

  5. Step 5

Cover the surface the soil with some black landscape material. I recommend Weed Blocker Garden Fabric, it allows water to be absorbed easily, breath easily, and warm the soil. Roots love warm soil, they thrive in it.

  6. Step 6

Use a fairly large plant spike or support rod. Also use a tomato cage. Put both of these in the pot now instead of waiting for you plant to grow. It's much easier to support early then later.

  7. Step 7

Now you just need to maintain your plant until till of harvest. Water your plants regularly. I used Miracle Grow Tomato Food every 14 days to give it a nice boost. But use in moderation.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep soil moist not wet.
  • Watch for any pests.
  • Do not over water.
  • If temperature is too high, remove the black fabric on the soil it will cook your roots if it gets to hot.
