Things You'll Need:
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- l tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- l large egg
- 1/4 cup butter
- l cup buttermilk

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 8x4 loaf pan. In a small bowl, combine l tablespoon of cinnamon and 1/3 cup of sugar. Set aside.

In large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon baking soda, 1/2 teaspoon salt. Set aside.

In mixing bowl of electric mixer: combine 1/4 cup unsalted butter which has been softened. Add l cup sugar and l egg and mix well.

Place half the flour mixture into egg/butter mixture and alternate mixing
with 1 cup of buttermilk until well combined. -
Step 5
Pour a third of the above batter into your greased loaf pan. Sprinkle a portion of the cinnamon sugar mixture as a layer on top of the batter. Again repeat twice with batter and then cinnamon sugar.

Step 6
Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean and dry. Remove from oven when done, and let cool for approximately 10-15 minutes. Remove from loaf pan and cool on wire rack. This loaf freezes well so you can make in advance and defrost anytime.
