Step 1
Two nights before thanksgiving is the most crucial of all the days before thanksgiving. This is when you get organized and see what preparations you will need to make, to make this a memorable night. A few examples would be if you're inviting a crowd and need more tables and chairs, order them from a party supply company. Also make sure to count out all the necessary linens, and silverware, plates and glasses and then make a shopping list and see what recipes you will be using so you may make a grocery list.

Step 2
The day before thanksgiving will be full of cooking and getting all those recipes cooked just the way your family love them. Figure out a cooking schedule. Remember to allow up to an hour to let the turkey sit and soak up the juices. Make sure to do a final prep on anything that can be cooked ahead of time. If you have the time go ahead and set the table in advance so everyone can see how beautiful their dinner will be that you have prepared for them. Make sure to make all calls to family and friends to make sure of how many people will attend the dinner.

Step 3
The night of thanksgiving is the best night where everything should be pretty easy because you planned ahead. You will probably be putting all your delicious meals on heaters and getting them nice and warm for you guests. This will also be the day you will be roasting your turkey so make sure to leave time in your morning to start your turkey and leave time to let it sit for a hour like you planned for. The way I do it is to assemble appetizers and the snacks and I put cheese, sliced salami or maybe some other dishes like my famous bean dip out in front of my guests.

on 10/31/2009 For a long time I didn't even know there was any other way of having Thanksgiving. I can't imagine trying to do it all on Thanksgiving morning.
