Catch Crappie Easily

Crappie are a wonderful fish to catch. They provide fun for all anglers both amateur and professional alike.
Many people do not know that there are very easy methods of catching crappie. Unlike bass, crappie are not often fighters and will gently take the bait.

I will teach you a great method to catch crappie.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Purchase some minnows from a different source than a lake marina. This is because the lake marinas often carry the same types

of minnows that exist in the lake. Crappie are smelling fish, and will go wild for other "smells" of minnows.

  2. Step 2

Hook a minnow either through its lips or back. Be sure to miss the minnow's backbone.

  3. Step 3

Give your bobber about 5 ft of fishing line from the hook.

  4. Step 4

Cast your line into some medium depth water. Usually around 20ft from the shore is a good distance.

  5. Step 5

Wait for nibbles. You will see your bobber getting bites at it. Eventually you will see your bobber go under the surface of the water.

  6. Step 6

After the bobber goes under, with a gentle force, yank the pole backwards so that the lower center of the pole hits your

shoulder. Do not apply too much force, because croppies have paper thin skin around their mouths.

  7. Step 7

Reel in the fish & either set free, or they make a fantastic meal!
