Make a Snap Video

A "snap” video is a very cute and easy video for the kids to make. Follow these instructions on how to do it.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Set your camera up on a tripod; this cannot be done handheld. Make sure the tripod is not going to be kicked or moved by anyone during the filming.

  2. Step 2

Set up your star at a desk so that you can see the surface of the desk in the viewfinder.

  3. Step 3

Have the star say something like “Funny things always happen whenever I snap my fingers, but the problem is, I never know what is going to happen!”

  4. Step 4

Have the star snap his/her fingers and freeze as soon as they snap. They really need to freeze every part of their body when they snap.

  5. Step 5

Keep rolling the camera while someone from off camera enters and changes something. For example, put something silly on the desk like a fish bowl, or put something on the person like a silly hat or sunglasses. It is essential that you do not make the person move while you are doing this.

  6. Step 6

Say “Go” and have the star unfreeze. They should look surprised at whatever is now in front of them, and then they should snap to make it disappear.

  7. Step 7

Import the footage into your editing program and simply cut out the parts when your star is frozen. It will appear as though the snap is making funny things happen.

  8. Step 8

The video should end with the star making himself disappear.
