How to Find a Paid Research Study on Craigslist

Save

Craigslist.org, an online community of local classifieds and forums, was founded by Craig Newmark in 1995. Incorporated as a for-profit in 1999, the website retains the .org domain because, as the website's factsheet explains, "It symbolizes the relatively non-commercial nature, public service mission, and non-corporate culture of craigslist."

A person utilizing Craigslist to identify opportunities to participate in a paid study or survey may search in several different categories.

  • Navigate to craigslist.org.

  • Select a location in which to search: Look on the right side of the screen. Click on your state, then choose the city nearest to you.

  • Click on "ETC" near the bottom of the "jobs" column on the right side of the page.

  • Read the resulting "SCAM ALERT" page, then click on "Continue to job postings."

  • Type your search term --- such as "paid survey," "clinical study" or simply "study" --- in the "search for" window and click on "Search."

  • Click on each resulting link.

  • Follow the same procedure in the "medical / health" and "nonprofit" categories under "jobs."

Tips & Warnings

  • Contact the paid research study as quickly as possible. Vacancies for participation in paid studies often are filled on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • Read the "SCAM ALERT" page carefully.
