Get Your Hair Really Straight

Do you have wavy, curly, or frizzy hair? Do you find yourself wondering how do people with the same texture of your hair get really straight hair? I know I did. My hair is a combination of frizzy, wavy, and curly. I thought that I would never get my hair to be straight and remain that way through the day without frizzing, waving or curling back up. But never think that! It is possible to get your hair slick and straight! Just follow these simple instructions and say goodbye frizz/waves/curls and HELLO straight!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Hair dryer
  • Fine tooth comb
  • Anti-frizz spray
  • Straightening Iron
  1. Step 1

First and foremost, invest in a good hair straightener! Make sure that it has ceramic plates so it does not damage your hair. I recommend a Chi, but that's just my addiction ;)

  2. Step 2

Wash your hair with shampoo and conditioner. Apply a healthy amount of conditioner to your hair and make sure you rinse completely.

  3. Step 3

If you have naturally curly/wavy hair, dry your hair without waiting! As soon as you get off the excess hair with your towel, comb it, and dry it! But, if your hair is just frizzy, you can towel dry for about 10 minutes before you use a hair dryer. Dry hair completely.

  4. Step 4

Pull your hair up a section at a time. You at least want THREE sections of hair pulled up. Start with the bottom section of your hair first (the section located next to the nape of your neck.

  5. Step 5

Using a fine tooth comb, get about 1 inch of hair in the comb. Comb it through once to make sure you have no tangles. Holding the comb with one hand and the straightener with the other, slowly comb down your hair with the straightener following directly behind it.

  6. Step 6

After you get one section of your hair done, spray with the anti-frizz spray. Remember, root to tip!

  7. Step 7

Do this to the remainder of your hair! After you get the THREE sections completely straightened, style as you want, but remember to go over any areas twice.

Tips & Warnings
  • For extra straight hair, go over each section with a hair straightener twice, and three times if your hair is extra wavy.
  • Be careful with a hair straightener, it does get hot!
  • Make sure to get ceramic plates on a hair straightener.
  • Allow hair straightener to cool before putting it away.
