Yahoo! is a company known worldwide for its search engine, web portal, free e-mail accounts and instant-messaging service. You can also create online accounts and join the online community of Yahoo! users. Similar to Facebook or Twitter, you can use your Yahoo! account to socialize with people around the world. You can also find friends on the network through Yahoo! Profiles or a Yahoo! People search.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

    Yahoo!Profiles

  1. Step 1

Go to Yahoo! Profiles page, profiles.yahoo.com.

  2. Step 2

Log in with your Yahoo! user name and password. If you do not yet have a Yahoo! Profile or an account, you can establish one from this screen.

  3. Step 3

Type in your friend's first and last name in the "Search" box in the right portion of the web page, under "Connections", and click "Enter". You can also search for your friend using just the last name, or a nickname instead of the first name. When users create accounts in Yahoo! they do not always follow all of the guidelines and the name in the account setting might not be the full legal name of the person. You can also search by the Yahoo! user name of the friend, if you have it.

  4. Yahoo! People Search

  5. Step 1

Go to Yahoo! People Search web page, people.yahoo.com, to begin your search. This search engine will allow you to find friends whether they are Yahoo! users or not.

  6. Step 2

Fill in the form with your friend's information, such as first and last name, possible state and city and phone number. It is not necessary to fill out each line, but the more information you enter the better chances you will find the right person.

  7. Step 3

Hit "Enter" on your keyboard and look through the links the search has generated to find your friend.
