How to Convert DAT to AVI


The DAT files are the data files that are mostly found in video CDs. These DAT video files are not supported by most media players and devices. So if you need to play these DAT files in your media players or use them in your portable device, you first need to convert them to AVI files.

Things You'll Need

  • AVS video converter software
  • Download the free AVS video converter from the website Launch the setup, and install the software using the default settings.

  • Run the AVS video converter and click "To AVI" button on main toolbar to set the output format to AVI.

  • Select the DAT files you need to convert using the "Browse" button from the "Input file Name" field. These are the files that you need to convert from DAT format to AVI.

  • Set the output file name and directory using the "Browse" button from the "Output file Name" field. The converted AVI file will be placed in the destination directory you specify here. The name you specify here will be the name of the AVI file.

  • Choose the "AVI" output format profile in the "Profile" field.

  • Click the "Convert Now" button to start converting the files from DAT to AVI. After the conversion is successful, go to the destination directory you specified and check for the converted AVI files.
