Many fertilizers, including some Scott products, contain iron. If you don't sweep excess fertilizer off concrete driveways and sidewalks, orange rust stains will appear when it rains or gets humid. Fertilizers containing iron may also stain the concrete floor of the garage or shed in which they are stored. Super Iron Out and CLR are two products that can help you remove Scott fertilizer stains from concrete.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Measuring cup
  • Super Iron Out
  • Bucket

  1. Step 1

Mix 1 cup of Super Iron Out with 1 gallon of warm water in a bucket.

Wet the concrete stain with water from a hose.

  3. Step 3

Apply the mixture of Super Iron Out and water to the stain using a brush with stiff bristles. Make sure you thoroughly saturate the stain.

Thoroughly rinse the area where you applied the Super Iron Out.

  6. Step 6

Clean the concrete a second time, if necessary, to completely remove the stain.

Tips & Warnings
  • Wear rubber gloves to protect your hands from the chemicals in the stain remover.
  • Never attempt to clean a rust stain on cement with bleach; doing so will set the stain.
