How to Contact Classmates

Finding old classmates is easier than ever, thanks to the information age. You don't have to rely on faulty records and snail mail to put a class reunion together or to simply reconnect with old friends.

Instructions

  1. Alumni Associations

    • 1

Call your alma mater, and ask about the alumni association. They usually have lists of classes with information on each student.

    • 2

Log onto the popular class reunion websites, such as Classmates.com or Mylife.com. You can search according to school, and you may even have several schools associated with your account. These sites aren't free, and you can't use them for communication purposes without paying a membership fee.

    • 3

Join a networking website, set up an account, and search for friends. MySpace and Facebook provide great ways to look up friends you have long lost track of. These sites also have categories of groups that include schools. Simply search for your school, and you are likely to find the majority of your classmates right there in front of you.

    • 4

Do an email search on popular mailbox providers like Hotmail and Yahoo. Just type in the person's name, and if they have an account with the provider, you'll be able to email them.

    • 5

Google them. If your friends have been up to anything significant, their names will pop up in a search engine. You may be able to garner enough information to make contact.
