"Netscape.exe" is an executable file that is part of the Netscape services, such as Netscape Navigator browser, Netscape Messenger or AIM. This is also the name of the system process that can be detected through the Windows Task Manager once you have one of the Netscape applications on your computer. Some files, especially in the older version of Windows, such as Windows 98, are set to be opened using "netscape.exe." This means you need to either install a Netscape program or remove the application from your computer first and then download the setup file. Once you have a Netscape browser or messenger installed on your computer the "netscape.exe" will be executed as well.
