How to Mod Halo 2 for XBox
Halo 2 can be modified or "modded" by players looking to change the way the game plays on an Xbox which has been modded first. Through the modding program on a computer, a number of changes can be made to the game all at the same time. You can change the sniper fire setting so that it always assists you in aiming to hit the target, and change the way your character moves so that he can jump higher than the developers intended. Modding the game can make it more entertaining to play.

Run the AIO version 2 software program on the computer. Run the DotHalo option of the software. Open the map of Halo 2 that is to be modded and go to the weapons tag column in the program's window. Expand the column to reveal individual files and select Sniper Fire. Uncheck the "Aim assist only when zoom" box in the tag editor window that has now appeared. Close the window by pressing the red "X" button in the upper right corner. Press "Save Changes" on the tag window to close the window and save the changes.

Click the Biped column in the program's window. Change the "Jump Height" to 10 in the column of the tag editor. Close the tag editor window using the red "X" button in the upper right hand corner. Press "Save Changes."

Click the Global column in the program's window. Click the "+" button. Choose global/globals from the files that have now been exposed. Change the "walking," "dashing" and "crouching" columns to higher numbers in the tag editor that has now appeared. Close the Tag Editor window using the red "X" button in the upper right-hand corner. Press "Save Changes."

Quit DotHalo and AIO verson 2. Open the CMR version 2 software program. Click on "Open Map" and select the map that you have just modded. Press "Resign Map" on the window that has appeared. Quit CMR version 2.

Copy the map that you have just modded to the Xbox using the FTP file transfer protocol between the computer and the video game console. Run Halo 2 on the Xbox and you will be able to play with the new modded settings.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure the work surface where the Xbox is being placed is clean of debris and well lit. Avoid the chance of static electricity damaging the Xbox by not working in an area where there is carpeting.
Any modification of the Xbox can void the warranty in the eyes of an authorized dealer or Microsoft. This can result in a denial of a repair under warranty, even if what needs to be fixed has nothing to do with the modification done by the owner.
