How to Register a Domain Name in UAE
If you're planning a site targeting residents of the United Arab Emirates, having an .ae domain name will help your target market identify you. The good news is that you don't have to be a resident of the UAE to register a country code top level domain name (ccTLD) there. While some second level domain names, such as mil.ae, are restricted, any entity or individual can apply to register an .ae domain name. Learn how to register a domain name in the UAE whether you're in Dubai or outside the country.

1
List several domain names that you might want in case your first choice is taken. Make sure they fit the United Arab Emirates' legal requirements. An .ae domain name must not contain trademarked words, words related to the adult industry, gambling, religion, politics or UAE city names.
-
2
Find an accredited .ae domain registrar online. As of 2009, .aeDA administrates the .ae domain and authorizes third-party registrars. Compare several registrars to find a price, level of customer service and variety of add-on services that suit you. If you're in the UAE, ask a Web designer for recommendations.

3
Use the registrar's name search function to check if the name you want is available. Unless you meet the requirements for second level domains (SLDs) such as .sch.ae and net.ae, select .ae as the extension.
-
4
Fill out the registration forms. Once you've selected a domain name, the online registration system will present forms in which to enter your name, contact address, name server (DNS) settings and any necessary information regarding URL and email forwarding. You can usually submit these online, but some registrars require you to fax or mail in the forms.
-
5
Pay for your registration. As of late 2009, prices for .ae domain names typically range between $30 and $80 (110 to 295 UAE Dirham), depending on the registrar. Most registrars let you pay online by credit card, but others require payment via bank transfer or another method.
