How to Remove & Replace an Ignition Switch

The ignition switch on your vehicle operates the ignition. Many vehicles use a combined ignition cylinder lock and switch assembly where the switch is located on the back of the cylinder lock. Removing the switch is normally a simple process of pulling the cylinder lock out of the steering column. However, for most vehicles, you'll need to have the ignition key to remove the lock and switch assembly.
