Many of Kenwood's in-dash car receivers can pick-up Sirius satellite radio with an optional tuner add-on. The tuner is a separate unit, but it can be operated using the Kenwood's controls and remote control. The audio from the satellite tuner is sent to the Kenwood's amplifier and then to the car's speakers.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Press the "SRC" button, which stands for Source. and choose "SAT/SIRIUS/XM". Take a look at the display; if the display reads "Call to Subscribe," set up a subscription. If you already have a subscription, the radio will try to acquire the signal. This can take a little time and won't work if you're in a garage. The display will tell you it doesn't have a signal,k should this fail.

  2. Step 2

Press the "Auto" button to switch between normal manual seeking mode, and search in order of the channels in the preset memory mode.

  3. Step 3

Push the audio button (marked "AUD") to the right or left to select a channel.

  4. Step 4

Press the "Search" button to enter a category or search mode.

  5. Step 5

Turn the "AUD" knob to select "Channel Search" and then press the "AUD" knob.

  6. Step 6

Turn the "AUD" knob again, or push it up or down to select the category. Push the "AUD" knob to the left or right to select the channel.

  7. Step 7

Press the "Direct" button on the remote to go into direct access tuning mode and then enter the channel number (just press the number buttons).

  8. Step 8

Start a channel scan by choosing "CH-SCAN", and release it when you get to the channel you want.
