Then select the video size and quality aspects you want and the quality of the audio track. Finally, click the "Output Path" tab and select where the finished file should be sent on your computer. Click on the "Convert Video" button and wait. The Preview Video During Conversion button is ticked by default, so you should be seeing the video playing very slowly in the window on the right hand side. Small MOV files will be converted very quickly but, if the MOV file is large, it may take a very long time to convert the file, so leave it running. If you untick the Preview button, the conversion will run a little faster.

Check the file. When the file is finished converting, the status bar will be blue all the way across and a box will appear above the preview window showing the details of the converted file. Go to the directory where you saved the output MPEG file and play the file through your regular media player of choice.

Tips & Warnings

  • Files tend to lose quality during conversion. Always start with a high quality original copy of the file you wish to convert.
