How to Replace Cabin Air Filter in a Tahoe

Some year models of the Tahoe are equipped with cabin air filters. The air filters help filtrate the air coming through your vents by trapping pollen, dust and other particles. Replacing the cabin air filter is easy in the Tahoe, because the glove box does not have to be removed. Note that 2007 and newer models are not equipped with a cabin air filter.

Things You'll Need

• GM filter number CV948C
• Phillips screwdriver

Instructions

1. Obtain GM filter number CV948C. Check with your local auto parts store to see if an aftermarket substitute is available.

2. Look closely under the glove box on the passenger side of the Tahoe. Remove the access panel by removing the three screws holding the panel to the glove box.

3. Remove the panel and pull the old filter out. Insert the new filter as far as it will go.

4. Replace the access panel and the screws to finish up.

Tips & Warnings

• GM recommends using factory replacement filters. Change your cabin air filter every 15,000 miles for best results.
