Things You'll Need:
- Box of Oreos
- Package of Cream Cheese
- Your favorite melting chocolate
- Metal bowl that can rest on the top of your pot of choice.
- Plastic storage bag
- Towel
- Hammer
- Wax paper
- Cookie sheet
-
Step 1
Fill your pot about halfway with water. Set your metal bowl on the top of the pot. The bottom of the bowl cannot touch the water. Now, fill your bowl with the melting chocolate. Once you've done this, turn your stove top on high, and let the water boil. The chocolate will start to melt. Make sure you stir it often so it will melt very smoothe. Once its completely melted, turn the stove top down to a simmer. Continue to stir if needed
-
Step 2
Get out your cookie sheet, and tape wax paper to the surface. You will be setting your truffles on this later to cool. Set the cookie sheet aside until later.
-
Step 3
Now, pour your box of oreos into a big plastic bag. Ideally, a ziploc storage bag. Place a towel under the bag, and one on top to prevent crumbs from flying everywhere. Now, get a hammer. Start hitting the bag to where you are crushing the oreos into very tiny peices. (This is usually very fun.) Once you've crushed the oreos as much as you can, pour the crumbs into a large bowl.
-
Step 4
Open your package of cream cheese. You will only need half of the block. Put the block in a bowl, and microwave it for about 15 to 20 seconds. This will make it so much easier to work with. Once you've done this, pour the cream cheese into the bowl with the oreos. Mix it all up to where the cream cheese is evenly distributed thoughtout the crumbs. Don't leave any unmixed chunks of cheese. Make sure theres enough cream cheese to where you can grab a chunk and roll it into a ball. If it doesnt stick together, add more cream cheese.
-
Step 5
Now, grab little chunks of the mix, and roll it into ping pong sized balls. Do this to the entire bowl. Now start dunking! Drop the balls into the chocolate, and make sure every spot is covered in chocolate. Set aside each ball on the cookie sheet.
-
Step 6
Once you've done this, put the cookie sheet in the fridge, and let them cool for a couple of hours. Once they've cooled, they are ready to serve!
