Protect yourself from fraudsters

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Remember if you receive a letter from sweepstakes or something stating that you've won money, you should never have to wire any money to any strangers. This is extremely important. You should never give out any credit card numbers or you bank account to unknown callers and if you receive a high pressure or emotinal phone call you should be very skeptical. Also you should not do internet secret shopper scams. Most of the time they will send you fake money orders or checks that they expect you to deposit into your account and wire back to them a large amount of money.

  2. Step 2

You should always contact the Better Business Bureau before responding to any offer. Everyone needs to be very careful these days.

  3. Step 3

Make sure you protect yourself and remember that if you've won money you shouldn't owe anyone money and be required to wire it to them. Especially if they want you to deposit a check first to your account and wire back a large portion of it.
