Things You'll Need:
- tape recorder
-
Step 1
One of the first things that you will need is a tape recorder. The tape recorder will be used to record the voice of a Spanish speaker or native hispanic pronouncing the words, in this case the months of the year in Spanish. The Key to learning Spanish is really in learning the vowel sounds. a sounds like the a in father. e sounds like the e in grey. i sounds like the i in Ski, o sounds like the o in coat, and u sounds like the u in glue. The more you associate sounds with words, the student will understand the language at a faster rate.
-
Step 2
Listen to the Spanish pronunciation of each of the months and repeat the words after the tape that you recorded of the native speaker saying the words. Replay and repeat this exercise at least three times. Children learn better with repetition.
-
Step 3
Once you have listened to the words spoken in Spanish and repeated after the tape that you made, it is important that you are able to recognize the words when you see them.
enero- january
febrero- february
marzo- march
abril- april
mayo- may
junio-june
julio- july
agosto-august
septiembre- september
octubre- october
noviembre- november
diciembre- december -
Step 4
Place your words on flash cards. One side of your flash cards should be written in Spanish and the other side should be written in english. Quiz yourself on a daily basis until you feel comfortable with speaking and identifying the words.
