    The first step to treating and getting rid of your red eyes is simple, make sure you are getting enough sleep. Many times people try to power through their day and this on a lack of sleep can cause red eyes. The simplest remedy is to actually get some sleep.

    Next you may want to try eye drops (especially if your red eyes are from allergies). Go to the store and buy some formulated drops, especially for allergy sufferers and follow the label as directed. Also many times the cause of red eyes is dry eyes. This is were a good artificial tear solution comes into play, suggested ones are ones that do not contain the substance BAK in them, this could cause future eye problems.

  3. Step 3

    Another simple solution is a cold compress. The reason why your eyes appear red is due to the fact that the blood vessels are inflamed. By using a cold compress of water (or even frozen vegetables) this should constrict the blood vessels and thus alleviate your red eye symptoms.
    Another simple solution is soaking milk into some cotton balls and using them as a cold compress as well.
