Things You'll Need:
- Bike tire patch kit
- Flat head screw driver
- Crescent wrench
- Soapy water
-
Step 1
Remove your bike tire. Using a crescent wrench, remove each nut from either side of your tire and slide it out of the forks.
-
Step 2
Next, remove your flat bicycle tube from the tire. This can be done by squeezing the tire walls together and pulling the inner tube out the side of the tire. A flat head screwdriver can assist you if you do not have a tire lever. The valve stem will have to be pushed out of the rim as well before the tire will come free.
-
Step 3
Find the puncture in your inner tube. If the hole is not obvious, inflate the tire and spray it with soapy water. As the air leaks out of the tire you will see bubbles around the hole. Mark this spot for later. Check the corresponding spot in the tire for any nails or debris that could have caused the puncture and remove them.
-
Step 4
Apply the glue to the bike patch and cover the exposed puncture.
Wait about 6 hours for the glue to fully dry. -
Step 5
Put the tube back inside the bike tire and inflate it to recommended pressure.
