Offer driving services. This is especially useful to individuals who are unable to drive themselves and wish to avoid public transportation. For instance, you could drive elderly neighbors to appointments, take neighbors grocery shopping once a week, drive children to school, or pick up and deliver food orders.
-
2
Start a grocery delivery service. Some individuals have schedules that preclude a trip to the grocery store during business hours. You could perform this service on their behalf for a fee.

3
Clean houses for people who do not enjoy housework or do not have enough time to do it for themselves. The moderate startup cost is for basic cleaning supplies, such as sponges, mops and buckets. Your schedule depends on the needs of the client, and could vary from once a week to once a month.

Sell items you do not need online. You could also offer this service to individuals who may not have the interest, time or computing skills to do so. Visit your neighbors and inquire about junk items they wish to sell or discard. Offer to sell these items on their behalf, for a fee or for a percentage of the price you set. You could also obtain items to sell from yard sales in your neighborhood. Be sure to include shipping in the sales prices you set, so you do not lose money when sending items.

5
Create craft items to sell. For instance, sell knitted accessories and homemade jewelry, at local craft shows, church fairs and school events. You may also sell your wares on the Internet through your website, or through craft or auction sites like Etsy and eBay.
-
6
Offer pet services. You could groom the pets, walk and feed them while the owners are at work, or care for them in your home when the owners travel.
-
7
Provide computer services. These include such services as computer assembly and repair, software installation and website design.

8
Earn extra income providing educational services. You could tutor elementary to high school students in subjects you are comfortable with, grade student papers, conduct a language class in your home if you are fluent in other languages, or teach adults to read. You may create your own business, or apply to a company that hires contractors to provide these services. Such companies provide the clients and pay a fixed hourly rate.

Join a focus group. Research companies seek opinions about products from groups representing a manufacturer's target consumer. The information helps the manufacturer create better products. Participants receive compensation for their opinions and time at the end of the session.
