How to Throw an Alcohol-Free Bachelorette Party
For moral reasons or as part of their personalities, not all engaged women relish the idea of a wild bachelorette party involving alcoholic drinks. Providing a tamer, alcohol-free alternative is fairly easy. Wedding colors, the time of year or holidays that take place during the same month as the bachelorette party, such as Valentine's Day in February, can all be incorporated into a bachelorette party to make bachelorette festivities more fun.

Day Trip

1
Find out if there is a particular town or place the bride-to-be has wanted to visit and plan a day or overnight trip there. If there is a hangout popular among the bride-to-be and her friends, head there instead. Look up as many free things to do in the town as possible so that invited guests won't have to turn down invitations because of financial concerns. For example, the St. Louis Zoo in St. Louis, Missouri does not charge admission to visit its more than 6,000 animals (see References 1).

2
To keep track of everyone easily while the bachelorette group is out on the town, have T-shirts made, either in the bride-to-be's favorite color or in her wedding colors. While shopping around for the best price, be sure to mention how many T-shirts you'll be ordering. There may be a discount for bulk orders over a certain number. The T-shirts can simply read, "Mary's Big Bachelorette Bash!" or can allude to an inside joke among the bachelorette guests. Make sure that everyone will be comfortable chipping in for the shirts and collect money for the shirts before departing on the trip. As a cheaper option, have a T-shirt decorating party a few days before the trip. Have each trip participant bring with her a blank T-shirt in her size. Provide acrylic paints to be used for decoration.

Make a mix CD of upbeat music for the car trip. Appropriate songs may include "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" by Cyndi Lauper or "Dancing Queen" by ABBA.
-
4
If you have the money to spare, put together fun favor bags for each bachelorette trip participant. Include the T-shirts and a copy of the car ride mix CD and add a photo frame to display memories from the trip as well as a book of jokes to keep the car ride light and fun.

Plan a simple menu. Serve snack foods like cheese puffs and pretzels and find recipes for virgin drinks, like this recipe from Martha Stewart Magazine for a non-alcoholic pink margarita (see References 2).
Gather a lime, 2 tbsp. of colored sanding sugar, 6 tsp. of grenadine and 1 1/2 cups of pink grapefruit juice. Put the sanding sugar into a shallow dish. From the middle of the lime, slice six thin pieces and set them aside. Rub the remaining lime wedge around the rims of six glasses, then coat the rim of each glass in sanding sugar. Add 1 tsp. of grenadine to the bottom of each glass. Blend the grapefruit juice and two cups of ice cubes on high speed to crush the ice. Add this mixture to the margarita glasses and stir. Stick one of the six lime slices onto each glass and serve.

Plan music for the bachelorette party. Ask the bride-to-be about her favorite bands in her teenage years or create a playlist of songs from upbeat pop bands like Britney Spears or The Backstreet Boys.
-
7
Plan a game reminiscent of junior high gossip. Get together with the groom-to-be before the bachelorette party and find out the answers to questions like his favorite color, movie or song, his most embarrassing moment, his favorite childhood memory, where he went to high school or what he majored in during college. Quiz the bride-to-be at the bachelorette party to see how many she can get right. Then, quiz her friends about her. In a second game, ask the bachelorette party guests to write down answers to questions about the bride. Have the bride keep score on a dry erase board, awarding a point to each guest for every answer they guess correctly. At the end of the game, award a prize to the guest who answered the most questions correctly.
