How to Help Relieve Arthritis Pain Caused by the Weather
-
1
Escape the cold temperatures and find a gym or heated pool in your area. A hot bath may also do wonders.
-
2
Put on warm clothes when temperatures drop, especially when going outside. Don't forget waterproof footwear, hat and gloves. And if you do get wet in the rain or the snow, immediately change into a dry outfit when you get home.

3
Take excess moisture out of the air in your house with a dehumidifier. By keeping the moisture at the same level, weather changes outside do not affect you as much and a sudden increase in humidity and decrease in air pressure will not be as apparent to you. In the summer you can keep the temperature stable with an air conditioner.
-
4
Keep your joints in motion with exercise. Maintain your movement in summer and winter. This will help avoid stiffness in your joints triggered by cold weather.
-
5
Drink plenty of water and juice, especially in the winter months. Liquids help flush out any toxins that build up in your body and this can alleviate arthritic joint pain.
-
6
Cover up your joints as temperatures drop. Even if you are inside, it is better to wear pants and long sleeves. Try a knee wrap to outsmart the cold by simulating warmer-than-actual weather.
