How to Learn Adobe Photoshop 7.0
Adobe Photoshop is a computer program widely used to enhance, alter and create images. To a novice it can seem intimidating because the program does so many things. With a basic foundation on how the tools work it isn't difficult to learn. Using it can be rewarding in many ways, and the more you know about the program the better you'll be. There are a lot of techniques that can be learned over time. With basic knowledge, you can experiment until you are a Photoshop master.

Install the program by placing the disc into your computer's CD drive. Click on the Photoshop icon, and follow the prompts.

Select an image you would like to alter. Go to the top of the screen select "File" and then "Import." You will then see the image.

Experiment with the tool bar. It is the horizontal collection of buttons to the left. Each button does something different. Click them all and drag the icon over the photo to see what they do. If at any time you need to reopen the toolbar, go to the top of the screen, select "Window" and then "Toolbar."

Watch the Photoshop tutorial and read the manual. If you select "Help" at the top of the screen you will be able to access both. This will give you a more thorough knowledge of how the program works.

Look online for other tutorials. There are numerous free videos you can watch online that will teach you added techniques. They can show you how to do almost everything in the program.

Experiment with the program. The more you play around with the program, the more you will learn about it. In particular, play with multiple layers, the extract tool (which is at the top of the screen) and the eyedropper. Any changes made to the photo will not stay unless you save. You can always undo the last thing you did by selecting "Undo" at the top of the screen.

Tips & Warnings
Learn the hot keys. On a Mac, "Command J" is duplicate layer, and "Command Z" is undo. This will increase your workflow significantly. Look at photos online that have been altered and try to figure out how it was done. This will also increase your knowledge.
