Instructions

1
Clip some sisal cording (which can be found at craft or carpeting stores), ensuring that the length is as long as you want the pine garland to be. This cord will create a stable base for the finished pine garland to attach onto.
-
2
Cut the pine into branches of equal length and size and attach some florist's wire or fishing line to the cord to get started. Wire a pine branch to the rope, setting a second branch over the first branch's stem, and wrap the wire securely around both branches until they are held together.

3
Repeat the above step, adding additional pine clusters until the garland is sufficiently long, and ensuring that each cluster covers the stem of the one before it. Make sure that none of the underlying rope shows through the garland.
-
4
Wrap some thick ribbon around the pine garland loosely to add some color, either weaving the ribbon throughout the garland or tying into individual bows.
-
5
Mount the finished pine garland to a staircase, banister, mantel or other fixture using long strips of chenille to hold the garland in place. Hammer in several thin nails to mount the garland to the fixture if the pine boughs cannot be wrapped and held into place with the chenille strips.

Tips & Warnings
Add some fresh pine cones to the garland by drilling a hole through each pine cone and running the florist's wire through them before attaching each pine bough. If you're looking to add more decorative color to your pine garland, try spray painting the pine clusters silver or gold, adding a thin coat of glitter spray afterward for added luster, if desired. Let the spray-painted garland dry completely before placing it on a Christmas tree or over any furniture.
