How to Bake Frozen Fruit Pie
It's quite convenient to simply reach into your freezer and pull out a whole, delicious fruit pie for unexpected company, a sick neighbor, a church bake sale or even for a little self-indulgence. During the holidays this is an especially good idea. You can freeze your fruit pies ahead of time and bake them as needed. Baking a frozen fruit pie is not that different from baking a fresh fruit pie. You just need to make a few adjustments. Does this Spark an idea?

Baking an Uncooked Fruit Pie

Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit.

Unwrap your frozen fruit pie and cover it with aluminum foil. Place it on a cookie sheet (to catch spillage). Do not allow it to defrost.

Bake the pie for 15 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and bake for another 15 minutes.

Uncover the pie and bake for 45 to 60 minutes or until the crust turns golden and the filling begins to bubble.
Baking a Cooked Frozen Fruit Pie

Remove your fruit pie from the freezer and allow it to thaw completely. This typically takes three to four hours.

Place the pie, uncovered, on a cookie sheet.

Place the pie in an oven set to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Heat for 10 to 20 minutes or until the filling begins to bubble.

Tips & Warnings
For a bit of extra flavor, melt a little butter in your microwave oven and use a pastry brush to lightly coat the top of your fruit pie (uncooked or cooked) before placing it in the oven.
