Step 1
Bookmark your favorite romance websites offering free romance novels. The content on these websites often changes quickly, so consider copying and pasting an online novel into your word processor if you don't think you can read it all before the website takes it down. There are many websites that offer free online novels. Harlequin is one of the best; they have been in the business of publishing romance for decades. Other sites include "Free Online Novels" and "Public Bookshelf" (see Resources). "Public Bookshelf" includes romance in many of its subgenres, including thriller, mystery and horror.

Step 2
To access Harlequin's website, visit eharlequin.com and scroll to the bottom of the page to the section entitled "Free Stuff." Click on the free section entitled "Online Reads." You are presented with two options: the "Daily Online Read" and the "Weekly Online Read." The Daily Online Read posts a new chapter each weekday; the Weekly Online Read posts a new chapter each Monday.
-
Step 3
Select a chapter number under the "Read Chapter" heading and that chapter is presented to you for your reading enjoyment. When you reach the bottom of the page, you'll see page numbers as hyperlinks. These numbers will allow you to navigate the chapter. You'll also find a link to a discussion board where you can share your feelings about the book with other readers.
-
Step 4
Access archived novels at the top of the initial page under the link "Online Reads Library" and you'll be taken to an extensive list of online romance novels that include many different subgenres, including medical romance, romantic suspense and historical romance. All of these titles are free to read and at your disposal twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
