How to Fix a DLNA Error on the PlayStation 3

The Digital Living Network Alliance, or DLNA, allows your PlayStation 3 to connect to a network to share data. This lets you play video files and music from other devices with DLNA functionality on the network, such as your computer. If you have problems connecting to the PlayStation Network while DLNA is enabled on your PlayStation 3, you can try some troubleshooting steps to fix the error.

Examine the network cables to ensure that the device you use as your DLNA media server is properly connected to the router.

Check the signal of your router by accessing your router software. Your wireless signal should broadcast on the 802.11b or 802.11g network.

Reboot your DLNA media server device, and disconnect your modem and router. Wait a few moments and reconnect these devices to restart them.

Disable DLNA on your PlayStation 3 if the first three steps do not solve your problem. Enter "Settings," followed by "Network Settings" at the home menu. Press the "X" button on your controller. Enter the option for "Media Server Connection" and press "X" again. Highlight the "Disable" option and press "X" to end DLNA file sharing.
