The Xbox 360 wireless controller is used in conjunction with the Xbox 360 game console. The wireless controller has many features, but the one that gamers tend to like the most is the ability to play their games without being restrained by wires. The wireless controller is simple to use and set up.

  • 2 AA batteries

      Press the button on the top of the battery pack, while pressing down to remove it from the controller.

      Insert 2 AA disposable batteries into the wireless controller battery pack. Look at the illustration on the underside of the pack to show how to position the batteries.

      Put the battery pack back into the wireless controller and lock it into place.

      Turn on your console and press and hold the "Xbox" guide button on your wireless controller. Hold the guide button down until the light comes on the controller.

      Press and release the connect button that is to the left of the power button on the console.

      Press and release the connect button located on the back of the wireless controller. The Ring of Light button on your controller and on the console will flash once. The controller is now connected to the console.

Tips & Warnings

  • A wireless controller that is operated by AA batteries will only last for about 10 hours. It would be less expensive to buy the Play & Charge kit for around $20, rather than constantly replacing the batteries.
