How to Make an Herbal Facial Mask Using Comfrey

Comfrey is commonly used in herbal cosmetic remedies designed for problem skin. It is especially good for skin plagued by acne and eczema. In addition to being beneficial for oily skin, it is also gentle enough for more sensitive skin types. Comfrey contains allantoin, which has been found to have a regenerative effect on the skin, making any remedy containing this ingredient good for mature or damaged skin. A facial mask made of comfrey can assist in revitalizing the skin and give it a more healthy, youthful glow. It can also help younger people suffering from acne and blemishes, because it cleanses the enlarged pores that lead to these conditions. Does this Spark an idea?

Add the yogurt to the honey and yeast mixture.

    • 4

Stir in the comfrey and calendula infusions and blend well until you have a thick paste.

    • 5

Cover your face with a thin layer of olive oil.

    • 6

Apply the facial mask over the layer of olive oil and leave on for about 15 minutes or until dry.

    • 7

Rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat dry. Apply a good toner of your choice.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you do not have comfrey and calendula infusions handy, simply fill two separate cups with boiling water. Add about five leaves of comfrey to one cup and four to five calendula blooms to the other cup. Cover and allow to steep for about 15 minutes. Strain and use the infusions for your facial mask.

  • As with any herbal remedy, test a small patch of skin before using. Avoid getting the mixture in your eyes.
