Orange Electrolyte Drink

Oral electrolyte solutions are designed to replace fluids lost to diarrhea, fever, or vomiting in sick people. They have also been known as sports drinks meant to replace fluids lost to excess perspiration that often occurs in strenuous exercise. These drinks are often purchased with big brand names and are often expensive. You can make the same oral electrolyte solution for just pennies a gallon.

It is a good idea to keep the ingredients on hand for anyone in your family who becomes sick (especially with the flu).

If vomiting or diarrhea continues, and the sick person is unable to keep this beverage down, call the doctor or go to the emergency room.

This is excellent frozen in individual plastic molds. This is especially soothing if you have a fever or sore throat.
