Step 1
A person. If you’re looking for information about a person, just go to Pipl (http://pipl.com/) and type in the person’s name, mailing address, email address, and any other contact information you have (the more the better). In an instant you’ll see links to information about that person from all over the Internet, including any Web sites, blogs, MySpace or Facebook pages the person has.
-
Step 2
Your family history. The Internet is a treasure trove of information for genealogists. The best place to start researching your family history is Cyndi’s List of Genealogy Sites on the Internet (http://www.cyndislist.com/). This site has more than half a million links to family history information.
-
Step 3
A picture. Want to find a picture really fast? Go to imagery (http://elzr.com/imagery/) where you just type in a keyword and this blazing fast search engine will flood you with images. You can click on the thumbnails to open the images in a new window.
-
Step 4
A video. There are hundreds of sites where you can watch or download videos on the Web, and populaire.eu (http://www.populair.eu/video/) is a site where you can search for them. Actually, this isn’t a search engine, more like a page with links to various video sites. You click on a site, and you can go directly there and search for the video you want to see.

on 10/15/2009 I loved Part 1 and glad that you added part 2. I do a lot of research and hadn't heard of Pipl and will check it out. As usual your articles are great and in-depth. I gave this a 5.

on 10/14/2009 Part 2 was as helpful as part 1 of how to find better sites for your internet research. There's so much junk out there in cyberspace now! 5*
