This is a great recipe for mulled cider. It is quick and easy. Anyone can make it. It has been in our family for many years. Your family will love it and you will be the star for making it. Enjoy this at Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Year's Day. This is how to make mulled cider.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 Qts. hard Cider
  • Dash Angostura bitters
  • 1/2 tsp allspice
  • 3-4 cinnamon sticks
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 oz. rum
  1. Step 1

    First, heat the hard cider and angostura bitters in a in a 4 or 5 qrt pot. Let this begin to heat but do not let it come to a boil. Add 1/4 tsp. allspice. Stir well. This is the first step in making mulled cider.

  2. Step 2

    Next, add 3 or 4 cinnamon sticks, 6 whole cloves and 1/4 cup sugar. Stir well and heat for an additional 5 minutes. Do not let it come to a full boil until after you add the rum. This is the second step in making mulled cider.

  3. Step 3

    Add 2 oz rum. Stir well and bring to a full boil.
    Strain into a silver pitcher or a pitcher that can take the heat.
    You may also strain directly into the cups. LET COOL 5 MINUTES BEFORE SERVING. This is the last step in making mulled cider.
