Pilgrim Hat Centerpiece
Pilgrim Hat Centerpiece

Make your own Thanksgiving centerpiece this year using one of these creative, easy ideas.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • candles
  • Pilgrim hat
  • cornucopia
  • glitter
  • small pumpkins or gourds
  • fresh or silk flowers in fall colors
  1. Step 1

Consider a theme for your centerpiece. A Pilgrim hat centerpiece like the one pictured, a cornucopia centerpiece or a pumpkin arrangement are three simple, easy ideas.

  2. Step 2

For a Pilgrim hat centerpiece, you can find a cardboard or foam Pilgrim hat at a craft or party store. If your flower arrangement is going to be made using fresh flowers, insert a glass or plastic cup that's slightly smaller into the hat and arrange flowers inside the cup after adding water. Consider adding glitter to the hat to make it sparkle.

  3. Step 3

For a cornucopia, you'll need to fill the horned-shape basket to slightly overflowing with real or artificial small gourds or pumpkins- again, you can add glitter to these to make them sparkle. A silk fall-colored bow is also a nice addition to a traditional cornucopia centerpiece.

  4. Step 4

Another idea for a Thanksgiving centerpiece arrangement is to consider a simple pumpkin, carved out, with a fall muum plant inserted in the center. Place smaller glittered gourds and pumpkins around the pumpkin centerpiece.

  5. Step 5

Absolutely add candlelight to your Thanksgiving table. Whether it's two standard candleholders or several candleabras, the use of candlelight will create the warm glow that will be the perfect accessory to your Thanksgiving table. Choose fall colors- if you choose reds or greens or golds, you'll be able to reuse the candles for the holidays.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not make your flowers stand up too high; dinner guests won't be able to see one another.
