Wondering how to grow hair faster? To get your hair to grow quicker, it's fairly simple, but it requires keeping your hair healthy. Getting healthy hair is key to growing hair faster and you must be diligent about your effort to improve hair growth. Growing long hair will take time and a healthy diet and supplements will help speed up hair growth, but you must also prevent and limit the damage to your hair. Read on to learn how to grow out hair faster!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Hair cutting scissors
  • High quality moisturizing conditioner
  • High quality moisturizing shampoo
  • Towel
  • Natural bristle hair brush
  • Magnification mirror
  • Vitamin A supplement
  • Vitamin C supplement
  • Vitamin D supplement
  • Folic Acid supplements
  • MSM vitamin supplements
  • Balanced diet
  • Hair detangling spray
  • Moisturizing leave-in conditioner
  • Ride to hair salon once a month
  • Money for a hair trim once a month
  • Shower
  1. Step 1

Wash and condition your hair every other day using a high-quality moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.

  2. Step 2

Sandwich your hair between a towel and apply pressure to dry your hair instead of "rubbing" the hair with the towel, as this will cause breakage and split ends. Split ends and breakage mean your hair grows out slower.

  3. Step 3

Put a moisturizing leave-in conditioner into your hair, particularly in the ends of your hair to keep your hair healthy and to prevent split ends and breakage.

  4. Step 4

Allow your hair to air dry after every shower instead of blow drying, as the heat will dry and damage the hair, causing split ends that will require more hair to be trimmed to prevent hair breakage.

  5. Step 5

Spray a detangler into your hair once dry, if necessary to prevent breakage and split ends that will require more trims, thereby slowing the rate at which your hair grows out.

  6. Step 6

Brush your hair only once it's dry (wet hair stretches and breaks, slowing the growing out process) using a natural bristle hair brush by starting at the ends and then moving up the hair once the ends are detangled.

  7. Step 7

Massage your scalp for five minutes at a time three times a day to improve blood flow to the hair follicles, which will make your hair grow faster.

  8. Step 8

Visit the hair salon once a month to get a trim to remove split ends; split ends will make your hair grow out slower because the split will travel up the hair strand, ultimately causing hair breakage that will slow down the process of growing out your hair.

  9. Step 9

Trim split ends at home once a week using a pair of hair cutting scissors and a magnification mirror to identify hair strands with split ends. Catching split ends early will prevent hair breakage that will make your hair shorter.

  10. Step 10

Eat a healthy, balanced diet to keep your body in a healthy state. General good health and diet means your hair will grow faster and healthier.

  11. Step 11

Take vitamin supplements daily that contain MSM, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D and Folic Acid. These vitamin supplements make hair grow faster. The supplements can be taken individually, or you can take a multi-vitamin supplement that contains all of these supplements. There are even vitamin supplements for healthy hair, skin and nails that contain these supplements for faster hair growth.

Tips & Warnings
  • Trimming your hair does not speed the rate of hair growth, but it will help you grow out hair faster because you'll lose less length to hair breakage caused by split ends.
  • Avoid using hair spray, gel and other products in your hair as this can cause split ends and hair breakage; this makes your hair grow out slower.
  • If blow drying is absolutely necessary, use the "cool" setting on the hair dryer.
  • Avoid using hair straightening flat irons and curling irons, as the heat dries the hair and causes split ends and hair breakage, which means your hair won't grow out fast as fast as it would otherwise.
  • Never brush wet hair; this will stretch the hair and cause breakage.
  • Do not wash your hair daily, as this will strip out the natural oils. Dry hair is more prone to breakage.
