Keep Jeans Looking New

After investing time and money into finding the perfect jeans, its important to keep them looking their best for years to come. Here are some tips for caring for your favorite jeans.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Remember that they stretch out. If you have jeans you absolutely love, save them for going out and don't wear them doing housework or any activity that is going to put a lot of wear and tear in them, especially in the knees.

  2. Step 2

Don't let the bottoms drag on the ground. They will fray. If they're too long, get them hemmed. Most women need different lengths of jeans for flats and high heels. Don't wear your high heel jeans barefoot or with flats, or you'll destroy the bottoms.

  3. Step 3

Wash inside out in cold water, with a gentle soap. Always air dry jeans, do not put them in the dryer. Also, don't wash them every time they're worn. If you change as soon as you get home, they should be clean enough to wear again.

on 10/19/2009 Great tips. One of my most favorite pair of jeans ever just started to get holes in the CROTCH area -- of all places!! UgH! Usually I will get some tearing in the knee area but...... And it's so hard to find a good pair of jeans. Great article. : /
