Step 1
Buy a long spool of fishing line at Wall Mart or K mart. For making a heavier prop move you should buy a heavier line, but most fishing line will work well. Fishing line won't show up at night, can be strung long distances without binding or tangling, and doesn't usually need pulleys to go around corners.
-
Step 2
Tie the fishing line to whatever you want to make move. In order to make it move you'll need to run the line to wherever you are going to be pulling the line. On your end of the line tie a short heavy stick to give yourself a handle to tug on and so you won't loose the line in the dark.
Lay out the line so that you get the most and desired movement for where you need to be. -
Step 3
Instead of having to go out into the yard to reset the prop for the next scary jump, run another fishing line run from the prop in the other direction. You can also do this with one huge loop of string. You'll need to set it up in a circle and then you can pull the string and make your scary thing go either direction.
